Socks - Highlighters
I love these socks! The yarn is as bright as highlighters, so that is their name. This was my first time doing an afterthought heel.
The pattern is the Bowtie Stitch by Caroline Kerr of Knit'N'Knibble

Project 365 - Summer of Socks - July 3
I finished my Easter socks! I dyed the yarn myself with egg dye. This is Knit Picks dyable yarn, and it is so soft and comfy. I love them!

Project 365 - Summer of Socks - July 1
I just need to finish the seam on the toe of the second sock. I am calling these my Easter socks because I used egg dye to hand-dye the yarn.
Cool, huh?

Project 365 - Summer of Socks - June 21
Yay! Today is the first day of summer of socks. I started a pair of socks for our oldest daughter. The pattern is Bremen Muster, and the yarn is Garnstudio FABEL.
I went to Barnes & Nobel and had lunch and then found a comfy chair to sit in and knit. What a great day!

Summer of Socks Starts Today!
Today kicks of Summer of Socks 2009. I have been waiting eagerly for today to arrive!
I have three pairs of socks on the needles already, and my goal is to finish a sock a week between now and September 1.
Today, to celebrate the official start of SOS2009, I will cast on a pair of socks for my older daughter.
Pictures to be posted soon .....

This Crochet Flower Hot Pad looks intimidating, but it was actually really easy to make. The petals are crocheted and then flipped and crocheted in place.

Project 365 - Courage Award
Both of our daughters serve as Altar Servers at our church. We had our Altar Server annual banquet tonight, and my older daughter earned the "Courage" award. She has been an altar server for almost 8 years, and our younger daughter has been one for 6 years. I am SO proud of both of them for serving Jesus with such love and devotion.

Project 365 - Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence
Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence: The Secret of Peace and Happiness: Father Jean Baptiste Saint-Jure, Saint Claude de la Colombiere.
My spiritual guide recommended this book to me a couple of years ago, and I am so glad she did. It is one of the best spiritual books I have read, and I have practially worn out my first copy, so I purchased a second one. (I got them both on eBay, but you can also purchase them from TAN Books).
Here is an excerpt:
"To remain indifferent to good fortune or to adversity by accepting it all from the hand of God without questioning, not to ask for things to be done as we would like them but as God wishes, to make the intention of all our prayers that God's will should be perfectly accomplished in ourselves and in all creatures is to find the secret of happiness and content." Impr. 144 pgs, PB

Our church has a Taize prayer service every month or so. It's so beautiful because of the beautiful music and the candle light. If you ever get a chance to attend a Taize prayer service, I strongly recommend it.

Project 365 - Knitted Ballband Swiffer Cover
One of my favorite things about knitting is making things I can use around the house. This is a washable cover for the Swiffer mop so I don't have to use the disposable ones anymore. I absolutely love the ballband pattern, and I will make more!
